You can join Homer and Dumb Willy in the group of braggarts and morons
that talk relentlessly about their censorship of the NG using killfiles
and who screwed up their killfile rules.

Well done!

And dont forget to add sMarti .. he uses Windows now apparently. But
sounds more like another Greycloud/FLatty/Clog con job to me.

"Hadron" thinks that filtering content from one's own view is "censorship".

Hadron, you are completely incorrect.
Greycloud, me and sMarti are 3 different people.

And we always have been.

Marti even has a new song up on his Soundclick page with Bill Gates
voice in it.
So how did I manage to forge that?

Greycloud is NOT the original Greycloud.

But one or two of sMarti's sentences sound very, very familiar to
certain "MS Shill" types here ... just saying like!

We all feed off each others lines, like LIEing for LIEnux. I made
that one up myself.

The Greycloud is the same Greycloud.
If you read back in the archives, you will see that Greycloud was
moving to a particular part of the country to take care of his mom.
He left COLA, came back, left again off and on for a while.

His ip address location matches where he was going to go live.
His ip address is broadband from a company not available in my
geography and not even close. He talks about really old technology,
Sun and DEC in particular and has been for years.
Etc.
Someone would have had to study his posting over the years to pull
this off. It's just not possible. And then why? It would be easier to
pick a lesser poster who had less personal details and use that for
the scam.

If it's a forgery, it's literally perfect but in any case it's not
me.

one of three things :

1) ex advocate saw the light and now occasionally talks like Clog/flatty

The action of filtering alone is not.

However, the repeated public declarations of that filtering action is
an attempt to invoke 'peer pressure' and the like, which effectively
is an attempt to censor the filtered individual.

Idiot

So you seem to think that "peer pressure" exists in a group where the
posters don't know each other and where linux advocates disagree on lots of
things every day?
But filtering usenet kooks like Hadron Msg-ID Larry or Snit Michael Glasser
(who even made it on the "kook of the year" list) isn't done on a wide scale
by most poeple who have read that incredible dishonest drivel these
imbeciles post day in and out? That act (which is just extremely logical)

No it's not. You are a effectively a bald-faced liar, "-hh".

Yes, and the reason why is because there's no other reason to "share",
other than to elicit a stronger group action.

What was your *motivation* to go mention specific individuals by name,
Peter?

By any chance is it because you don't believe that they're been
censored (sorry, "filtered") by enough people to make a difference,
and you're trying to solicit additional help?

Tsk, tsk - - another lame attempt at an Ad Homenium personal attack.

Peter, you would find it highly beneficial personally if you were to
spend some more time listening instead of spouting bullshit. I
suggest that you take a short train trip to Nuernberg, to research the
historical use of propoganda by the Third Reich and how it was quite
deliberately employed to marginalize various interest groups in their
society, and when.

What was your motivation for taking the specific action to spread that
opinion? Was it done just once, preferably after that subject was
brought up by another? Or did you put it in your .sig file to push
it out as part of your agenda?

You know, a .sig file which looks like this one:

> --

> asshole "-hh", lying shamelessly

Speaking about allegations of restrictions to "Freedom of Choice", it
looks like your Android-based "Can Do No Wrong" poster child of
Google, isn't living up to that principle:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/04/09/google_android_antitrust_complaint/

As I've said, the *action* of repeated announcements of things like
the contents of killfiles has to have a motivation to support making
the effort. What you've tried to dodge is just what the motivation
is. It is far too systematic and chronic to believably be purely
random.

So!

If this action was not a peer pressure based attempt to silence/
intimidate/censor others as I have suggested ... then just what is its
underlying motivation?

You're just trying to be a playground bully.

Obviously you and the rest of your herd are strongly influenced by the
pressure you put on each other. You fear displeasing the rest of the herd...
you fear being ostracized. You see what happens to those outside of your
cult-like group, how you go on the war-path and lash out with lies and other
nonsense.

To deny this would be insane.

Historically, the bombing of Germany by the Allies occured years and
years after the propoganda intiatives of the Germans upon their own
populations.

For example, the infamous "Crytal Night" action occurred in November
1938:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristallnacht

Looking further, one will find that the deliberate marginalization
went back even further, such as the passage of specific legislation as
early as 1933:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Jewish_legislation_in_prewar_Nazi_Germany

Now this doesn't mean that there wasn't Anti-Semitism elsewhere in the
world ... there of course was. But the level of extremism in Germany
was also arguably also a catalyst and enabler as well.

In any case, the point of mentioning this history is to illustrate
that 'peer pressure' isn't a fiction: there is a long history of
society being subjected to very deliberate manipulative actions.

I see, the NAZI's were racist long before the U.S./U.K. intervention;
times were tough back then, families were too large.

Yes, Hugh⋅Huntzinger, Mr. "chrisv" is a "playground bully".

Their freedom of speech is not our obligation to listen.

It's as simple as that.

And I have no power to force others not to listen to the same things I
refuse to listen to. I can advocate it, but ultimately the choice is up
to them. "Censorship" is something else entirely: a single gatekeeper
who blocks access to information, /contrary/ to the wishes of the
reader. But I am not any sort of gatekeeper, I don't own Usenet, and the
only way anyone can filter the same things I do is if they voluntarily
/choose/ to do so, because they happen to share the opinions that I
publicly advocate.

That's no different than a politician campaigning then winning votes.
Is that "peer pressure"? Is it "censorship"?

No, it's just the opposition losing the vote, then whining about it.

But in this case the "vote" is not between politicians, it's between
individuals who value their personal liberty vs. a bunch of corporate
shills trying to take it away from them, with propaganda that supports
criminal monopolists. Then they even have the gall to suggest we
shouldn't be allowed the freedom to choose not to listen to their
propaganda, and our refusal to do so is tantamount to "censorship".

It's hysterical.

Gee, I wonder why anyone would choose not to listen to corporate shills?
Probably for the same reason they'd choose to filter commercial spam, or
choose not read Mein Kampf, or choose not to attend a Tea Party rally.

Naturally the propagandists will whine about their propaganda campaign
being thwarted, but ultimately the fact is: they may be free to speak,
but we are not obligated to listen.

I suppose the lying asshole would claim that there's something wrong
with trying to convice others to vote a certain way on political
issues. Even having a candidate's sign in your front lawn would be
bad.

You see, it's attempting to invoke "peer pressure", so it is
effectively an attempt to deny people their right to vote as they
please.

Sheesh! What a *stupid* fscking *asshole* the "-hh" liar is. How can
these assholes even "show their faces" in here, after making such
*jackasses* of themselves?

Cue the lying asshole to claim that anything in the above is a "lie",
when, in fact, it's 100% honest supposition, and quite fair, being not
one bit worse than his "effectively is an attempt to censor" idiotic
assholery.

Cue the lying asshole to claim that this post shows that I read his
response. In fact, I have no idea if he has responded in this thread,
today.

Cue the lying asshole to claim that any of these "cue" statements are
"lies". They are not. They are simply predictions of how a stupid
lying asshole like "-hh" might respond. A quite-fair preemptive
strike against a lying asshole who I have filtered, thus usually have
no opportunity to rebut.

It is a supposition, but far from being an "100% honest" one.

The reason why it isn't honest is because all analogies have their
limitations for applicability.

Cue the inclusion of the "...today" caveat as a loophole. ;-)

Simply YA attempt to lie to themself so as try to rationalize their
bigotry. It is all quite evident where posters like sMartin get
shitcanned for allegedly "changing sides".

Oh, it is quite obvious why: people rarely enjoy being reminded that
they're a hypocrite, bigot and all-around loser, and censuring is an
alternative to being unafraid of change, and working to change one's
self to actually become a better person.

FYI, there was a substantiative response to the poster who you tried
your little "Me Too!" act on, and the recipient of that response has
since logged onto COLA and posted - but not a response here, so they
have appeared to have quietly conceded the point in silence. Of
course, to be fair, they might have instead been busy IRL and not yet
had the time to provide a concise reply, so affording another 48-96
hours as a courtesy is appropriate before dismissing this alternative
and settling on the first.
